PRIDE FLOAT

Nature offers a space for reflection, grounding, and connection with the Earth. Interacting with our environment helps us appreciate its beauty and notice its wounds. Engaging with nature reminds us of our place within a larger ecosystem and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

Snapfinger Creek feeds our wetlands and our lake. Wetlands have always influenced humans. Civilizations first arose along the edges of rivers, in the fertile soils of floodplains. Wetland ecosystems are the most biologically productive on earth, rivaling tropical rainforests. They make life on earth possible by producing oxygen, storing carbon, and processing nitrogen. Draining or removing wetlands could be compared to destroying the factories that support life on Earth.
